JOB OBJECTIVE:
The person will be responsible for performing all required microbiological testing of ingredients and finished beverages at EASC , as well as provide guidance, training and troubleshooting support to BU mainly in field of microbiology, line validation , beverage analysis etc. Should act as Subjcet Matter Expert within the laboratory on microbiological analysis and deliver training programs as per GQAS protocols on microbiology.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION :
ESSENTIAL: M.Sc. MICROBIOLOGY
DESIRED: Manufacturing Experience in Beverage/Food Industry
MINIMUM RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 4-5 years
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS (IF ANY) : Fluency In English
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 25-30%
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
1.Lead microbiology capability development initiatives for bottlers, suppliers and third party laboratoty
2.Provide training and guidance to plants in Eurasia region on microbiology, Lab operations and testing
3.Provide support to BU in developing Corrective and Preventive actions on relevant issues
4.Develop capability and implement new microbiology testing techniques as needed at EASC
5.Perform microbiology tesing of beverages/ ingredients at EASC
6.Support Risk Assessments for bottling plant
7.Build up network of microbiologists in the region to further strength their existing competency
8.Provide support to bottling partners on HACCP/ food safety
9.Ensure functioning of microbiology lab as per ISO 17025 and GQAS norms
10.Ensuring the microbiology laboratory is suitably equipped, resourced and maintained to perform all necessary testing required by Company specifications and requirements.
11.Evaluation of test results including understanding, identification and troubleshooting of contaminants identified as part of the testing process
12.Providing appropriate consultations for microbiological inquiries and concerns. HelpBU and bottlers on micro test protocol design. This may include support to new product introduction, particularly sensitive beverages.
13.In consultation with R&D, providing guidance on micro sensitivity of ingredients, formula, process/plant facility; Updating knowledge regarding microbial risk in ingredients, process, and product; and propose appropriate countermeasure against it
14.Provide on-site training when requested by BUs
15.Support day-to -day functioning of EASC through basic understanding of beverage analysis and beverage parameters.
16.Support roll out and participate in Plant chemist training programs
17.Conduct Internal audits for EASC as required
18.Participate in third party lab assessments as needed
19.Participate in proficiency testing as required
